Proposed Anies-Khofifah Duet Appears, PPP: The More Figures, The Better

JAKARTA - Deputy General Chairperson (Waketum) of the PPP DPP Arsul Sani, responded to the proposal of the Anies Baswedan-Khofifah Indar Parawansa pair. This duet was proposed by PPP East Java. According to Arsul, the more figures that are displayed and paired from the start, the better democracy will be in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. According to him, the more candidates that are raised, the more opportunities for the community to give an assessment of the best candidate. He also admitted to paying attention to a number of names that were paired, for example Anies Baswedan-Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), as well as Ganjar Pranowo-Sandiaga Uno.

"The figures that were displayed and paired up from the start, in my opinion, would be better. There is the Anies-AHY duet, but there are also those who bring up, for example, the Ganjar Pranowo-Sandi duo. That has already appeared," Arsul told reporters, Thursday, July 21.

"There is also Anies-Khofifah. I saw yesterday that a number of friends at the East Java PPP proposed that as well. It's okay, the better," he continued.

Regarding the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB), Arsul emphasized that PPP is still loyal to KIB. However, he said, KIB has not spoken about the candidate pair because it is still in the identification stage of potential candidates and is also observing developments.

"We are not going to talk about the candidate pair yet, just the identification stage. While observing developments," he said.

Arsul said that KIB was still focused on finalizing the coalition platform. Because according to him, as a coalition of political parties, KIB wants potential candidates to be supported in the future to be able to carry and comply with the KIB platform. So that his position is not only a vehicle in the presidential election.

"KIB really wanted our political traditions, the traditions of our political parties, what platform did we have from the start.
