DPC Gerindra East Jakarta Sues Prabowo Because M. Taufik Has Not Been Fired, Riza Patria Alludes To Cadres Must Obey

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of the DKI Jakarta Gerindra Party, Ahmad Riza Patria, responded to the actions of the Gerindra East Jakarta (Jaktim) Branch Leadership Council (DPC) which sued Prabowo Subianto for not firing M. Taufik as a party cadre.

Riza emphasized that the process of dismissing M. Taufik from Gerindra was still limited to submitting recommendations from the Gerindra Party Honorary Council (MKP).

"(The dismissal) is just a recommendation from the party's honorary court," said Riza at the DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, July 20.

Riza emphasized that the decision to dismiss was entirely the authority of the Gerindra DPP. Therefore, all cadres must obey whatever steps the party takes in responding to a case.

"The authority is in the DPP. We as cadres must obey, follow the policies taken by the party. The party has not made a decision, we will participate, yes," said Riza.

For information, the lawsuit was filed with the South Jakarta District Court by the Chairperson of the Gerindra Jaktim DPC Ali Hakim Lubis as the plaintiff. The plaintiff asked the court to order the defendant to immediately fire Mohamad Taufik as a Gerindra cadre according to the recommendation of the Gerindra MKP.

Meanwhile, the first defendant is the Gerindra Board of Trustees, chaired by Prabowo Subianto who also serves as the General Chair of Gerindra. Then, the second defendant is the Central Executive Board (DPP) Gerindra.

"Punished Defendant I and Defendant II to immediately implement the decision of the Honorary Council of the Gerindra Party," along with the contents of the petition filed by the DPC Gerindra Jaktim, quoted at SIPP PN South Jakarta.

The MKP's recommendation for the dismissal of M. Taufik was issued on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, based on the results of their trial.

At that time, the Chair of the Gerindra MKP session, Wihadi Wiyanto explained, there was an accumulation of mistakes and violations that had been committed by Taufik as a Gerindra Party cadre, starting from the 2019 presidential election.

During his tenure as Chair of the Gerindra DPD DKI Jakarta, as well as at the DKI Jakarta DPRD from the Gerindra faction, Taufik is considered to have failed in carrying out the party's mandate related to the loss of votes for the Prabowo-Sandi pair in DKI Jakarta in the 2019 Presidential Election.

Then, Taufik is often mentioned in corruption cases (Tipikor) within the DKI government. In addition, until now the Gerindra DPD DKI Jakarta does not yet have a permanent office like the Gerindra Party DPD DPDs in other areas.

Regarding the violation of AD/ART, Wihadi said, Taufik has also been proven to have committed acts that are contrary to and not in line with the direction of the Gerindra Party's policy. That is, he has violated his oath as a Gerindra Party cadre who decided to submit and obey the party's ideology and discipline and to maintain the honor, dignity and cohesiveness of the party.
