Bengkulu Prosecutor's Office Names 4 Suspects For Corruption In Palm Oil Replanting, From The Head Of The Farmer's Group To The Village Head

BENGKULU - The Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has named four suspects in the alleged corruption case of the oil palm replanting program in North Bengkulu Regency in 2019-2020.

The four suspects are the Chair of the Rindang Jaya Farmers Group AS, the Secretary of the Rindang Jaya Farmers Group ED, the Treasurer of the Rindang Jaya Farmers Group S, and the Tanjung Muara Village Head, P.

Head of the Bengkulu Prosecutor's Office, Heri Germany, said that currently the Bengkulu Prosecutor's Special Criminal Investigation team was continuing to investigate the four suspects.

"The investigation of the four suspects is still in the process of developing the investigation, and the full information will be conveyed tomorrow in a press release at the Attorney General's Office," said Heri as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 20.

He explained, the total funds for the North Bengkulu Regency palm oil replanting program in 2019/2020 amounted to Rp. 150 billion from the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPKS).

The program recipients are 30 farmer groups with a total of 2 thousand farmers.

The Bengkulu Attorney General's Office investigator team suspected that the oil palm replanting program had several irregularities, such as the Identity Cards (KTP) of beneficiaries who were not owners of oil palm plantations.

Then, the recipient of the aid has been declared dead, the use of the funds is not for oil palm, but for replanting rubber plants, citrus plants to buying plantation land rights (HGU).

It is known, from the total Rp150 billion fund for palm oil replanting, one farmer group received Rp25 million per hectare of funds with a land area of no more than 4 hectares.
