PAMEKASAN - Police officers from Pamekasan, East Java are hunting for those who spread fake news about robbery cases through social media because they are disturbing the public.

"We are deploying a team to investigate the spreader of the false news, because it is very disturbing to the public," said Pamekasan Police Chief AKBP Rogib Triyanto as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 19.

The news about the robbery case circulating on social media reportedly occurred in Larangan District.

The fake news maker said that in Pamekasan there had been two cases of robbery in two different locations, namely in Larangan District and in Pademawu District.

"In fact, after we carried out tracking at the location, the news was not true," said the police chief.
