Passport Has Been Revoked, Ministry Of Law And Human Rights Suspects Regent Of Mamberamo Ricky Ham Escaped To Papua New Guinea Via Rat Route

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) suspects that the Regent of Mamberamo Ricky Ham Pagawak fled to Papua New Guinea using a rat route to avoid being summoned by investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The police also suspect that Ricky fled to PNG via a rat's net by riding a motorcycle taxi.

The Director of Immigration Supervision and Enforcement, I Nyoman Gede Surya Mataram, said that it was impossible for Ricky to travel to Papua New Guinea using the flight route. This is because the Democrat politician has been on the preventative list based on the KPK's request to travel abroad.

"The RHP (Ricky Ham Pagawak) passport has also been officially revoked so that it no longer functions as a state document," said Nyoman in a written statement, Monday, July 18, 2022.

Nyoman explained that Ricky's prevention is valid until December 3, 2022. So, he said, currently Ricky's passport is just a book containing ordinary writing.

Previously, Acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri, stated that the KPK included the Regent of Central Mamberamo, Papua, Ricky Ham Pagawak, on the wanted list (DPO). Ricky became a fugitive because KPK investigators were unable to find his whereabouts.

Ricky is a suspect in the alleged bribery and gratification case in the implementation of various projects in the Central Mamberamo Regency Government. On Thursday, July 14, last week, investigators scheduled an examination as a suspect.

"The Investigative Team has scheduled a second summons for one of the regional heads in the Papua Province who has been designated as a suspect to be present at the KPK's Red and White building in Jakarta," said Ali.

However, Ricky was absent from the call. Even when he was about to be picked up by the KPK, he had already fled.

"With this DPO status, the KPK urges people who know of its whereabouts to immediately report it to the KPK or other officials so that arrests can be made immediately," said Ali.
