JAKARTA - The Executive Director of the Nusantara Institute PolCom SRC, Andriadi Achmad, assessed that the Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP) Moeldoko was worthy of participating in the 2024 presidential election. Because Moeldoko is one of the ministers whose popularity is quite calculated. According to him, the name Moeldoko can compete with the names of assistants to President Joko Widodo who have been widely known to the public. Such as Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno, BUMN Minister Erick Thohir, Social Minister Tri Rismaharini and even Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. "In my opinion, several ministers in the Indonesian Working Cabinet Volume 2 are eligible to participate in the presidential election, judging by their popularity and electability indicators, such as Prabowo Subianto and Sandiaga Uno who paired up in the 2019 presidential election. Likewise, the names of other ministers such as Erick Thohir, Risma, Mahfud MD, Airlangga, Luhut and KSP Moeldoko," Andriadi said when contacted on Monday, July 18. However, he continued, Jokowi's ministers, including Moeldoko, must be supported by political parties to reach the presidential threshold of 20 percent. "What is the main consideration and determinant, is the political party or coalition of political parties that carries it in accordance with the mandate of the law, namely the presidential threshold of 20 percent," he said. According to Andriadi, Moeldoko definitely has the opportunity to participate in the 2024 presidential election. "Especially considering his brilliant career background, he has held positions as Commander of the TNI and KSP to date," he said.

Even some time ago, said Andriadi, to smooth out his ambition to participate in the 2024 presidential election, Moeldoko and his supporters tried their luck by taking over the Democratic party from Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono.
