I'm Well! Speed Boat With Missing DPR Member In Jayapura Finally Found

JAKARTA - The patrol boat KPLP KP.339 managed to find a speed boat with passengers from the Papuan DPR member, Yonas Nussy and his team of 8 people who had lost communication contact.

Saturday, July 16 at around 11:30 p.m., KSOP Jayapura received a report from the Jayapura/Port Numbay GKI Tanah Papua area field coordinator Rando Rudamaga regarding the loss of communication contact with the speed boat that took members of the Papuan DPR, Yonas Nussy and his team of 8 people.

The speed boat was reported to have left Jayapura Harbor on Saturday, July 16, 2022 in the early hours of 02.00 WIT and in the morning it is expected to enter Sarmi and head to Waren Harbor.

The report was immediately followed up by the Acting KSOP Jayapura by deploying the Marine and Coast Guard Unit Patrol Vessels/KPLP KNP. 339 from Waren Harbor combing the waters of Yapen and Mamberamo.

Plt. Head of KSOP Jayapura Willem Thobias Fofid confirmed the news and said that after receiving a report from the Jayapura klasis regional coordinator, he immediately sent Urgency Information via WhatsApp messages to the KSOP Sorong office, KSOP Biak, KSOP Manokwari, Port Operator Unit/UPP Serui, UPP Sarmi, UPP Korido, UPP Wasior, UPP Nabire, KPLP Patrol Boat Commanders, Navigation District and Jayapura and Biak Beach Radio Stations including the Jayapura SAR Office, Biak SAR Office and Sorong SAR Office.

Capt. Nellce Harewan and the crew who were on duty patrolling the security and safety of shipping at the Waren Harbor during the GKI Synod Session immediately responded by sailing through the waters of Waren and Yapen and managed to find the speed boat.

The speed boat that was declared missing was found at 16:00 WIT, position L.01' 53.66 S/137'03.52 position speed boat in Tanjung Dombo Poiwai, on Sunday 17 July 2022, 16.15 L 01'52, 10 S/ longitude 137'05.08 E.

The head of UPP Serui, Fathoni confirmed the information to the media crew stating that the news and urgent information sent by KSOP Jayapura had been received by his party.

"For this reason, we are members of KPLP UPP Serui and KPLP KSOP Jayapura together to conduct a search using the KNP.339 Patrol Boat, the passengers were immediately evacuated to Serui to be handed back to their families," said Fathoni.
