'Wow, It's Really Cheap', Amien Rais's Subordinates Mock The Renovation Of Megawati's Workspace At BRIN Reaches IDR 6.1 Billion

JAKARTA - Megawati Soekarnoputri's plan to renovate the workspace of the Steering Committee of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) is said to have reached Rp 6.1 billion.

The chairman of the DPP Ummat Party, Mustofa Nahrawardaya, said he was surprised. With a sarcastic tone, he responded to the news of the workspace renovation which cost billions of rupiah.

"Oh God. Very cheap," commented Mostafa, quoted from his Twitter account, Monday, July 18.

Previously, the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto responded to the news of the repair of the workspace, which cost Rp 6.1 billion.

According to Hasto, Megawati Soekarnoputri is a figure who puts forward function. So, the workspace is made in such a way to feel comfortable.

"When I was assigned him to design the Party School in Lenteng Agung, the Party School, including Mrs. Mega's room, was designed comfortably and simply. Likewise at the PDI-P DPP office," Hasto told reporters, Sunday, July 17.

Meanwhile, BRIN denied the news. Head of BRIN's Communications and Secretariat Bureau, Driszal Friyantoni, said that the amount of money circulating regarding the renovation of the BRIN Steering Committee's office space, Megawati Soekarnoputri, was incorrect.

He said Rp6.1 billion was not only the workspace of the BRIN Steering Committee, but the entire room on the second floor. There are at least 10 BRIN Steering Committee work rooms.

"That's right, we will renovate the room on the 2nd floor," said Driszal when confirmed, Sunday, July 17.

Apart from Megawati, the other BRIN Steering Committees are Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, Minister of National Development Planning/Head of National Development Planning Agency Suharso Monoarfa, Sudhamek Agoeng Waspodo Sunyoto Emil Salim, I Gede Wenten, Bambang Kesowo, Adi Utarini, Marsudi Wahyu Kisworo, and Tri Qualified.

"We will renovate the second floor into work spaces for all 10 members of the Steering Committee. Not only for the chairman of the steering committee himself," said Driszal.
