4 Districts In Bekasi City Had Floods, Water Level Reaches 1 Meter

BEKASI - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that four sub-districts in Bekasi City were flooded due to overflowing rivers on Saturday, July 16.

"The affected areas include Jatiasih, East Bekasi, South Bekasi and Jatiasih," said Head of BPBD Bekasi City Enung Nucholis confirmed in Bekasi, Saturday, July 16.

Data collected up to Saturday, July 16 afternoon, floods hit Jatiasih sub-district, including Vila Jati Rasa Housing with a height of 10-20 cm, Pondok Mitra Lestari Housing 10-30 cm, Pondok Gede Permai Housing.

Floods were also experienced by residents in East Bekasi District as high as 10 cm in Lengkak Village, Gang Kali Maya RT01, 02 RW 05, Bekasi Jaya Village as high as 50-100 cm.

Next up is Gang Semar RT04 RW04, Bekasi Jaya Village 30-70 cm, Mawar Gang RT08 RW03 50-80 cm, Gang Mayor Oking RT02 RW04 40 cm.

Floods in the South Bekasi District occurred in the Vila Jaka Setia Housing with a height of 20-70 cm, Jaka Kencana Housing complex, Jaka Setia Village with a height of 50-70 cm.

Meanwhile, in North Bekasi District, residents of Kampung Lebak RT07 RW02, RT01 RW03, Teluk Pucung Village have a height of 1 meter.

Enung said the flooding in the area was caused by the overflow of the Bekasi River and the high intensity of rainfall. "Yesterday it rained from 17.00 to 21.00 WIB," he said.

In addition, rainfall in Bogor Regency, West Java, also affects the overflow of the Bekasi River, which is the confluence of the Cileungsi and Cikeas rivers in Jatiasih.

According to a report from the Cileungsi-Cikeas River Care Community (KP2C), the water level of the Bekasi River peaked at around 01.15 WIB reaching 670 centimeters from a maximum capacity of 350 cm.
