JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has reshuffled the position of President Director of BUMD PAM Jaya. Anies dismissed Syamsul Bachri Yusuf from the position of President Director of PAM Jaya and replaced him with Arief Nasrudin.

The replacement of PAM Jaya's Managing Director position was again carried out in the midst of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's plan to terminate the drinking water management contract with private partners Palyja and Aetra or to privatize water.

Syamsul's position as PAM Jaya leader did not last long. Previously, Syamsul was appointed by Anies as president director in December 2021, replacing Priyatno Bambang Hernowo in December 2021.

The replacement of this position was delivered by Plt. Head of the Regional Owned Enterprise Development Agency (BP BUMD) of DKI Jakarta Province, Budi Purnama.

This, said Budi, is one of the strategic steps in the transition and transformation period within PAM Jaya to expand the scope of services.

"The replacement of the CEO of PAM Jaya is part of the efforts and strategies carried out by the capital owners to place PAM Jaya management who have integrity, dedication, reliable, professional competence and experience in order to prepare a good transition and transformation process," Budi said in his statement, Saturday. , July 16.

Budi said that Anies assessed that Arief Nasrudin, who previously had experience and a long track record as the President Director of Pasar Jaya, met the criteria needed to carry out his position.

"He is expected to be able to work with all stakeholders in completing the transition and transformation process according to the laws and regulations," said Budi.

Budi said that the end of the cooperation between PAM Jaya and Palyja and Aetra on January 31, 2023 requires preparation and readiness from all company stakeholders, be it the Board of Directors and Supervisory Board, Management and Employees, the Government and even the people of Jakarta.

Moreover, after the collaboration ends, PAM JAYA faces a big job to achieve service coverage of up to 100 percent by 2030.

"During the transition period (termination), the key to its successful implementation lies in the role of each company where each company is required to be able to work together, be proactive, and participatory, as well as be adaptive in carrying out the transition process," explained Budi.

"Meanwhile, during the transformation period, PAM Jaya must ensure that services continue to run without being disturbed by the changes made," he continued.

To note, currently the coverage of water service fulfillment in Jakarta by PAM JAYA is still at 65 percent with 909,600 new connections for customers and 20,757 liters of water produced per second.

To achieve 100 percent service coverage, PAM Jaya requires an additional 11,150 liters of water per second.
