Flood Point In Jakarta This Morning Increases To 92 RT, Water Level Reaches 2 Meters

JAKARTA - Dozens of RTs in Jakarta have been surrounded by floods due to the rain that has been pouring down Jakarta since the night and has fallen again this morning. The DKI Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that there were additional points that were flooded.

Head of the DKI BPBD Data and Information Center Insaf said, as of 06.00 WIB, floods inundated 71 RTs in Jakarta. Then at 09.00 WIB today, the flood point increased to 92 RT.

"Inflation information, from previously 71 RTs, is now 92 RTs or 0.302 percent of the 30,470 RTs in DKI Jakarta, with a height of more than 40 centimeters," said Insaf in a statement, Saturday, July 16.

Insaf said that the flooding occurred in 26 RTs in South Jakarta, 18 RTs in West Jakarta, and 48 RTs in East Jakarta. The cause is high rainfall to overflowing rivers.

The highest flood at 09.00 WIB was in Cililitan Village and Cawang Village, East Jakarta with water levels reaching 2 meters.

"The condition of the inundation is being handled by the DSDA, Damkar and PPSU Kelurahan. The inundation is targeted to subside in a short time," said Insaf.

Meanwhile, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts rain that can be accompanied by lightning or lightning in the South Jakarta and East Jakarta areas will return in the afternoon.
