Visit Komnas HAM, Police Discuss Coordination Of Each Special Team To Investigate Bloody Incidents Brigadier J

JAKARTA - The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) and the National Police held a meeting regarding the case of the death of Brigadier J alias Nopryansah Yosua Hutabarat at the shelter for the Head of the Propam Division, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.

During the meeting, Komnas HAM and the National Police discussed the steps in investigating the incident that occurred on Friday, July 8th.

"The aim is to re-discuss the coordination between the special team formed by the National Police Headquarters, in this case the National Police Chief, and the team owned by Komnas HAM," said Komnas HAM Chairman Ahmad Taufan Damanik at the Komnas HAM Building, Jakarta, Friday, July 15.

This coordination is important to do. This is because Komnas HAM and the National Police and on previous occasions have agreed to work in their own ways.

This means, in this case Komnas HAM will collect case instructions which are then attached as recommendations. In addition, it will also monitor the investigation process carried out by the Police.

"Komnas HAM works in reference to Law No. 39/1999 on Human Rights by monitoring investigations and monitoring the law enforcement process," he said.

Wakapolri Komjen Gatot Eddy Pramono added that this coordination was a form of transparency for the Bhayangkara Corps. Because, in the process, Komnas HAM will need data from the National Police to investigate this case.

"If possible later certain data is needed and meet with our team, for example with the Forensic Laboratory, Forensic Medicine, we can confront our members from Forensic Medicine, like that," said Gatot.
