Mention That It Is Unlikely That Other Political Parties Will Join KIB, PAN: They Want To Build Their Own Coalition

JAKARTA - The National Mandate Party (PAN) said it was unlikely that other political parties would join the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) with Golkar, PAN, and PPP although the assessment was still very dynamic.

This was stated by the General Treasurer of the PAN DPP Totok Daryanto when talking about the opportunity for other political parties to join KIB in a discussion entitled Coalition Map After the Birth of KIB, in South Jakarta, Friday, July 15.

"It is still open and it is possible that other parties will join the KIB, but my guess is that it is unlikely," said Totok.

According to Totok, the possibility is small because of the desire of each political party to form a coalition with each other. Meanwhile, if the KIB is enlarged, he said, the chances of a candidate becoming more than two will be reduced.

"Well, for KIB, yes, we are open, but will other parties join or not? If I look at it for a while, it gives the impression that they want to build their own coalition, the process is still dynamic and we don't know yet," explained Totok.

Political parties, he continued, also have the desire to carry their respective presidential candidates. "Because the demands of our democracy also seem to want to open Pandora for pairs of candidates, maybe there is a desire, if for example 3 candidates are more democratic, yes, we have to listen, we read from discussions," said Totok.

However, Totok said that until now the KIB is still open if other political parties want to join the KIB.

"But if you want to join KIB, you will be very happy, especially if there is only one coalition, large KIB for all parties joining, isn't it funny, during democracy, how come there is only one candidate, like the election against an empty box, it's impossible," said Totok.
