JAYAWIJAYA - The Jayawijaya Regency Government, Papua Province has postponed the distribution of village funds for phase one for five villages due to incomplete administration and legal problems related to alleged misuse of funds.

Jayawijaya Regional Secretary Thony Mayor said, there are several villages whose village heads have died and no appointment has been made so that the distribution of village funds has not been carried out.

"We postpone the disbursement, it doesn't mean it won't be disbursed. But we want to find a joint solution first to solve problems that are acceptable to the government and the village, only to be disbursed even though the schedule is out," he said while in Wamena, quoted from Antara, Friday, July 15. .

The Regional Secretary ensured that the local Village Community Empowerment Service (DPMK) had issued a search schedule and the government hoped that once the funds were disbursed, the funds would be put to good use.

"The disbursement schedule has been issued so that it is still in the disbursement stage and the funds must be used for development purposes in the village," he said.

The disbursement of village funds is no longer through the local government but through the National Treasury Head Office (KPPN) based on recommendations from the Jayawijaya Government and directly to the village account.

"The village that has no problems will be recommended by DPMK to make disbursements at the KPPN as distributors," he said.

Although he did not mention the names of the problematic villages, he ensured that they were not spread over one district, but more than one district.
