Trends In Fraud, Extortion And Counterfeiting Of KPK's Names Are Rising, Here's How To Distinguish It From The Original

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) asks the public to be careful because of the rise of fake people.

KPK Inspector Subroto said that his party received reports that there were parties claiming to be employees and committing acts of fraud, extortion and forgery.

In fact, the anti-corruption commission received a report that a figure wearing a uniform with the KPK logo committed fraud against a number of public officials, including lawyers and judges. The person is named Bahriansyah.

In his identity, he refers to himself as a major general of military prosecutors and a KPK prosecutor. Later, Bahriansyah also claimed to be on the supervisory board of the anti-corruption commission.

"They claim to be the Supervisory Board of the KPK and the Public Service by making a fake assignment letter bearing the KPK logo," said Subroto in a written statement, Friday, July 15.

Subroto reminded the public to pay attention to detailed procedures in the official operational activities of KPK employees. There are several things to note, namely:

1. In carrying out each assignment, KPK employees are always equipped with an assignment letter and an official identity card issued by the KPK

2. KPK employees are prohibited from promising/accepting, let alone asking for compensation in any form

3.It is not true if there is a party who promises to 'take care' of a case that is

4.KPK has never appointed any organization or institution as an 'extension', partners, consultants, lawyers, or representatives of the KPK

5. The KPK has never published or collaborated with media that use the name KPK or something similar to the KPK

6.KPK does not open branch offices or special representative offices of KPK in regions

7. The official website managed by the KPK is the internet site at www.kpk.go.id

8. Anti-corruption socialization tools in the form of books, posters, and brochures published by the KPK are given to parties in need free of charge (free of charge)

9. The services provided by the KPK for the community are free of charge or free.

Furthermore, the KPK also asked the public to report if they found such an individual. Reports can be submitted directly through the call center or to the police station.

"If you find parties claiming to be KPK employees and suspected of committing public violations, they can report them to the KPK through the 198 call center," concluded Subroto.
