Bareskrim Has No Problem Investigating ACT Cases, Determination Of Suspects Just A Matter Of Time

JAKARTA - The National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) has confirmed that there are no significant obstacles in the process of investigating allegations of misappropriation of aid funds involving the charity Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT). In fact, it is just a matter of waiting for the process of determining the suspect.

"There is no difficulty (determining the suspect, ed) it's just a matter of time," said the Director of Special Economic Crimes at the National Police, Brigadier General Whisnu Hermawan, Thursday, July 14.

An indication of a problem is that the former ACT presidents, Ahyudin and Ibnu Khajar, continue to be questioned on a marathon basis.

For Ahyudin, it was recorded that he had been examined five times in a row. Meanwhile, Ibn Khajar four times.

According to him, the examination process is only to obtain strong evidence. Because, referring to the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), the determination of a suspect must be based on two pieces of evidence.

"To determine the suspect, 2 valid pieces of evidence are needed. We are still investigating," said Whisnu.
