KEPRI - Governor of the Riau Islands (Kepri) Ansar Ahmad said residents of Bayat Village, Palmatak District, Anambas Islands Regency have now enjoyed PLN electricity for 14 hours. Previously, the bright flame of electric current was only enjoyed for 7 hours a day.

"With the Deutz F10L413F diesel engine capable of producing 100 kW of power, as many as 158 families in Bayat Village are now electrified for 14 hours from five in the afternoon to seven in the morning," said Governor Ansar Ahmad when opening the electric fuse in the houses of Bayat Village residents, Thursday, July 14. reported by Antara.

Ansar said Bayat Village is included in the "Kepri Bright" program for the 2021 budget year. Gradually, the provincial government wants to complete the program, so that with incoming electricity, residents can do more activities, especially children to study at night.

Apart from Bayat village, there are at least eight other villages in the Anambas Islands Regency that already enjoy electricity. The villages are Sunggak, Air Putih, Serat, Lingai, Mujan, Kiabu, Mengkait, and Telaga villages.

Not only in the Anambas Islands Regency, in Karimun Regency there are also the villages of Degong, Mi Strait, Ngal, and Semembang. Meanwhile, in Lingga Regency, the village that has just received electricity is Busung Panjang village.

Ansar ensured that he would continue to coordinate with various parties to resolve the Kepri Terang, including SKK Migas in Anambas in order to distribute Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to supply electricity to villages in Anambas.

"From time to time we try to increase the hours of the lights, which are still 7 hours plus 14 hours, the four 14 hours are trying to be 24 hours, we will discuss it with PLN later," said Ansar.

With the increasing number of electrified villages in Riau Islands, he continued, the Electric Village Ratio (RDB) in the area has reached 93.75 percent and the PLN Electrification Ratio is 98.65 percent.
