25 Houses In Margoyoso Pati Drowned By Flash Flood

PATI - As many as 25 houses in two villages in Margoyoso District, Pati Regency, Central Java, were washed away by flash floods in the area due to high rainfall.

"Dozens of houses were washed away by flash floods in Margoyoso District, namely in Bulumanis Kidul Village there were 13 houses and Tunjungrejo Village 12 houses, while in Sekarjalak Village only minor damage was done," said Regent Pati Haryanto after visiting the flood site in Bulumanis Kidul, Margoyoso District. , Pati was reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 14.

To meet the food and drinking needs of flood victims, he said, the Pati Regency Government has prepared a public kitchen near their respective village halls.

In addition, he added, currently there is also a supply of food and drink needs from PMI Pati, volunteers, communities, the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Pati Social Service as well as a number of other parties.

The Pati Regency Government also carried out an inventory of victims of the flash flood that occurred on Thursday (14/7) early that morning. Furthermore, after knowing the needs will be mapped and residents whose houses were damaged will also be assisted by the government.

"We hope that the community unites and does not blame each other. Let's together find the best solution because flood victims also don't just lose their homes, important documents are also carried away by the flood so they need a helping hand as soon as possible," he said.

The head of the Pati Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Martinus Budi Prasetya who accompanied the Pati Regent to visit the flood location in Bulumanis Kidul Village added that currently flood victims were temporarily evacuated at the nearest village hall.

"There are also those who took refuge in their relatives' houses because the 25 houses scattered in the two villages were indeed uninhabitable," he said.

The flood disaster in Margoyoso District was recorded to have hit three villages, namely Bulumanis Kidul, Sekarjalak and Tunjungrejo.

Apart from Margoyoso District, flooding also occurred in several villages in Pati Kota District, Wedarijaksa District, Trangkil District, and Margorejo District.
