Search For Residents Drowning In Batang Hari River, SAR Expands Search Area By 20 Km

JAMBI - The joint SAR team continues to search for Ikrom, the victim who was reported to have drowned in the Batang Hari River, Jambi. Entering the fifth day of the search, the SAR has expanded the search area by 20 km.

"The Joint Search and Rescue Team is now expanding the search area for the victim Ikrom (16), a resident of Kembang Paseban Village, Mersam District, using all equipment," said Head of the Jambi Basarnas Office Kornelis in Jambi, quoted from Antara, Thursday, July 14.

The joint SAR team consisting of National Police and National Armed Forces personnel, BPBD and the community has dispatched members of the operations sub-section to search since the first day the victim was reported missing.

"On the fifth day of searching for victims, the joint team expanded the sweeping area downstream of the Batang Hari river for 20 km using rubber boats belonging to Basarnas, BPBD and boats from the community," said Kornelis.

The search started at 07.00 WIB until 18.00 WIB, and according to the SOP from Basarnas.

The joint team will maximize the implementation of SAR operations until the seventh day according to the provisions. "We hope and try to find the victim soon," he concluded.
