There Was A Late Catering Service For Hajj With The Excuse Of Traffic Jams, Minister Of Religion Gus Men Yaqut Was Disappointed And Immediately Asked For An Evaluation

MEKKAH - Minister of Religion as well as Amirul Hajj Yaqut Cholil Qoumas checked one of the catering providers for consumption for Hajj pilgrims to evaluate its services in accordance with the contract.

"I checked Cordova's catering, which is a catering provider who was twice late. I also had the opportunity to clarify," said Yaqut, after checking Cordova's catering, which is in the Al Syauqiyah area, Mecca, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 13.

The check was carried out regarding the unsatisfactory catering service because it was twice too late to distribute food to the pilgrims.

The catering owner argued that he was twice late because the employees were lazy and now the employee has been dismissed. In addition, the catering was also delayed due to traffic jams.

"For us, there is no reason like that. It is clear that a contract cannot be late. This must be evaluated," he said.

Yaqut, who is familiarly called Gus Men, considered the caterer unprofessional. Moreover, when he arrived, the catering workers did not wear head coverings and did not wear long sleeves and t-shirts while cooking.

"I want to make sure, besides being on time, they are also healthy. I saw them wearing long clothes, wearing head coverings, masks and hand covers. I saw them wearing short sleeves earlier," he said.

Regarding this matter, Gus Men immediately ordered the Director General of Hajj and Umrah Organizers (PHU) to immediately evaluate the catering in question.

"We ask for another evaluation. Adjust it with the contract so that if we don't perform, we will be given strict sanctions. We have been given two warnings. Once again, we have done so, and have terminated the contract. I ask the implementing team to be firm because this is related to the congregation," said Yaqut. .

Apart from Gus Men, participating in the catering check included Deputy Minister of Religion Zainut Tauhid Sa'adi and a number of members of Amirul Hajj.
