JAKARTA - Member of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Anggara Wicitra Sastroamidjojo, asked the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to review the 100 percent Face-to-face Learning (PTM) as COVID-19 cases soared in the capital.

"This PTM must be reconsidered because this is a policy when the case is sloping," Anggara said as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 13.

In recent days, Jakarta has again become the center of the spread of COVID-19 by dominating the national number of cases.

"As of yesterday, the daily number of cases was above 1,500 cases," he said.

The chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) faction of the DPRD DKI Jakarta also emphasized that the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta must also tighten health protocols in schools considering that children are a vulnerable group which must be one of the priorities for protection from COVID-19 transmission.

He emphasized that children are a vulnerable group for the spread of COVID-19. Moreover, in school the interaction between students is definitely more intense because they usually play.

"I think the DKI Provincial Government must take quick action before there are cases in schools," said Anggara.

Anggara said that if the DKI Provincial Government decided not to stop PTM, at least there would be action to tighten health protocols (prokes) in schools.

If PTM has not been stopped, the DKI Provincial Government must encourage schools to make extra efforts to enforce health protocols which have recently begun to loosen.

"It definitely takes more effort because managing children is more difficult," said Anggara.
