BANDAR LAMPUNG - A child resident of the Class II Lampung Special Child Development Institute (LPKA), Pesawaran Regency with the initials RF (17) died, allegedly the victim experienced abuse by fellow inmates.

"He died at the Ahmad Yani Metro hospital on Tuesday (12/7)," said Nira, a family member of the deceased RF, in Bandar Lampung, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 13.

He revealed that when he was brought to the hospital from LPKA, the victim was in a poor condition with many bruises all over his body and signs of being burned with cigarettes in several parts of his body.

"We took him to the hospital after the officers at LPKA called that our sister was sick there," he said.

He suspected that the injuries on his sister's body were due to abuse by fellow prisoners at LPKA.

"Previously, we visited the deceased in good health. A week later, the prison officers called and asked us to visit because our sister was sick, when we got there she was already dying," he said.

Because of that, Nira said the family was suspicious of what happened to her sister and asked the police to follow up on the case.

"My younger brother is only serving a four-month sentence in LPKA for juvenile delinquency and on July 16 he will be serving two months of his sentence. But now he is dead, so our family asks for this case to be handled fairly and fairly," he said.

Meanwhile, the Lampung Regional Police (Polda) is currently conducting an examination at the Lampung Class II LPKA to determine the cause of death of one of the children in conflict with the law (ABH) there.
