JAKARTA - The health team continues to identify pilgrims who can be sent home more quickly (tanazul). Most have heart disease and have had a heart attack in Saudi Arabia.

"On average, we will propose tanazul for those who have heart disease and have had a heart attack in Saudi Arabia, and we are currently treating them at the Mecca KKHI," said Head of the Health Section of the Mecca Work Area Muhammad Imran in Mecca, Antara, Wednesday, July 13. .

Apart from being dominated by heart disease, there are also congregants with comorbid diabetes and lung disease. "They are worried that if they stay longer and do strenuous physical activity in Saudi Arabia, they will have another heart attack. So we propose an earlier tanazul," he said.

Furthermore, Imran said the identification process continues and the data is very dynamic and the reassessment is continuously updated so that the condition of the pilgrims is really suitable for traveling by plane for 9-11 hours.

"Later, we will propose to Daker Mecca to get seats, hopefully on the first or second day of flight there are our pilgrims who can follow the tanazul process," added Imran.

For information, the first batch of pilgrims will start leaving for the country on July 15 and 16, 2022 via King Abdulaziz Airport, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

To ensure that pilgrims are in good condition during the flight, pilgrims with certain conditions such as heart disease using a pacemaker, for example, the installation of a permanent pacemaker in Saudi Arabia needs better supervision, especially when going to fly, because the pacamaker requires special handling on the plane.

Likewise, pilgrims who undergo ring-fixing heart surgery in Saudi Arabia also need stricter supervision.

"Alhamdulillah, so far the pilgrims we have proposed for early tanazul are in stable condition and do not need special equipment except to continue drug therapy which can be consumed during flight," he said.

Previously, as many as 51 Indonesian pilgrims were proposed to take part in tanazul or transfers between flying groups (kloters) for the return of pilgrims for certain reasons.
