JAKARTA - Member of the Gerindra faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Purwanto, will hold his son's wedding reception on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Setu Babakan, Srengseng Sawah, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta.

The plan, this wedding reception will be attended by thousands of invited guests. The sub-district head of Jagakarsa Santoso also intervened. Santoso made a circular to the Lurah Srengseng Sawah to ask residents to avoid Jalan RM. Kahfi II which is located in front of Setu Babakan starting at 08.00 to 24.00 WIB on Saturday.

"It's true, I have issued a circular or an appeal regarding the planned activities of our residents, which he has said that there will be thousands of people invited. Given these conditions, I urge our residents, who are crossing the road, if disturbed, to use another route. ," said Santoso when contacted, Wednesday, July 13.

Santoso explained that the appeal he issued was aimed at avoiding traffic jams caused by Purwanto's children's reception.

However, Santoso admitted that he did not have the authority to close Jalan RM. Kahf II. This is because the party authorized to carry out road engineering is the Department of Transportation.

"I remind you, if there will be road closures and others later, it's not my authority as the sub-district head, that's the authority of the Transportation Agency and the Police," he said.

So far, Santoso claims that there have been no objections from local residents. However, he understands that in the future there will be people who feel that this event will be difficult.

"Until now, I haven't confirmed the residents' objections, but if there are residents who object, I think that's fine, it's just a matter of things, indeed, there are those who can agree, some who don't agree, you can't force everyone to agree," said Santoso.

A member of the Gerindra faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Purwanto also opened his voice on this notification. Purwanto emphasized that he did not want road closures around the location of his son's wedding reception.

"To avoid these potential obstacles, residents can take other alternatives. Then in the implementation of the event later, we have coordinated with the Transportation Agency, we agree, and I also don't want road closures," said Purwanto.

Purwanto also installed dozens of banners containing an appeal to residents to avoid Jalan RM Kahfi II and distributed at a number of points in the Srengseng Sawah Exit.

"We have carried out preventive measures by appealing to residents through banners that we have distributed at 20 points so that residents anticipate that these activities will cause potential traffic jams and disruption of activities. So, they can very consciously plan their trip on that day which way, " he added.
