Public Enthusiasm For Booster Vaccines In Cirebon Is Low

CIREBON - The Cirebon District Health Office, West Java, stated that the public's enthusiasm for participating in the third dose of COVID-19 vaccination or booster is still relatively low, where until now there have only been 638 thousand people or 35 percent of the target.

"Public enthusiasm is still low (to participate in booster vaccinations)," said Head of the Disease Prevention and Control Section (P2P) of the Cirebon District Health Office, Dendi Hamdi, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 12.

Dendi said that the current COVID-19 vaccination service was still being carried out at several vaccination centers, but routinely at the puskesmas.

However, continued Dendi, public enthusiasm for vaccination, especially the third dose or booster, is still lacking, because there are only 638 thousand or only 35 percent of the target of 1.7 million people.

"Puskesmas still continue to provide COVID-19 vaccinations, and there are many vaccines available," he said.

According to him, the first dose of vaccination has exceeded the target of 1.7 million people. Because people who have received the first dose of vaccination reached 1.8 million.

Meanwhile, the achievement of complete or second dose vaccination, said Dendi, was recorded at 1.6 million people, or 91 percent.

"Our first dose of vaccination, according to the ID card, has covered 105 percent of the target," he said.
