CIREBON - The Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) of Cirebon City, West Java, facilitated 15 Khilafatul Muslimin congregations to leave the organization and pledge allegiance to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) and Pancasila.

"We hope that this pledge will not only be ceremonial, but that they will actually leave the organization," said Cirebon Mayor Nashrudin Azis as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, July 12.

Azis said he was grateful that the members of the Khilafatul Muslimin of Cirebon City were able to pledge allegiance to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia by simply using a discussion approach.

He felt relieved that there was no need to use other means to make 15 residents who had joined the Khilafatul Muslimin pledge allegiance to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and Pancasila.

Azis hopes that after making their vows, they will truly return to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and abandon ideas that are contrary to Pancasila.

Meanwhile, Cirebon City Police Chief AKBP Fahri Siregar said that his party had been monitoring Khilafatul Muslimin members for a long time and when there was an uproar, they could be approached in a persuasive manner.

The movement of the Jamaah Khilafatul Muslimin in Cirebon City, which consists of three heads of families (KK), only holds routine recitations, raises infaq, and syiar.

"Their routine activities are taklim and syiar which are carried out simultaneously every four months and this time they have agreed to return to the Republic of Indonesia," he said.

The declaration of leaving the organization was carried out at the Cirebon City Police Headquarters. They read the declaration of dissolution and signed a pledge of allegiance to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

The procession of signing the pledge was witnessed directly by the Cirebon City Forkopimda, Cirebon City Ministry of Religion, FKUB, MUI, and community leaders.
