JAKARTA - Police arrested 10 thugs for taking control of a house belonging to a retired general of the Indonesian National Police in Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta. They occupied the house because they were ordered by someone who had debt problems.

"This has been handled by the Polda Metro Jaya, in this case our Resmob has secured 10 people. So indeed there is a problem starting with borrowing money," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E. Zulpan to reporters at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, Tuesday, July 12.

This debt problem occurred in 2019. At that time, Inspector General (ret) Bambang Daroenorijo and his son, AKBP Tetra Darmawiaran, borrowed money worth Rp. 6.5 billion with a number of conditions. One of them is a house that is used as collateral.

However, when Inspector General (ret) Bambang Daroenorijo died, the debt was not paid. So, the lender also collects money from the family.

The family was unable to pay off the debt. So, the lender hired thugs to occupy the house. In fact, Inspector General (Ret.) Bambang Daroenorijo's family was forced out of the house.

"Because it was not returned, it was occupied by forcing the people in the house out," said Zulpan.

With the thuggery act, the family of the retired police general decided to report the case. The report was registered with the number LP/B/3474/VII/2022/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA dated July 9, 2022.

Meanwhile, for the creditors, Zulpan continued, until now there has been no report on debt problems.

"The problems reported by people who feel they are lending money have not been reported to the police, but they are taking steps personally with certain people who are being paid to force other people to vacate their homes," said Zulpan.
