Have Not Confirmed Rizieq Shihab's Return, Police Have Not Planned Security

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya has not been able to confirm the certainty of the return of the high priest of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab to the country. Therefore there are no plans to provide special security.

"Polda Metro Jaya did not prepare because those who came were just ordinary people, until now we have not received clear news whether they will come or not," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Yusri Yunus to reporters, Thursday, November 5.

According to Yusri, the absence of additional security was also due to Soekarno-Hatta Airport already having sufficient security. Because Soekarno-Hatta Airport is a vital object that many people use for their activities and interests.

"But what we know is that the airport is a vital object, there is already security there, some from the airport, some from the Angkasa Pura authority, then also from the Kodim who have been securing the airport every day," said Yusri.

Yusri appealed to Rizieq Shihab's sympathizers not to participate directly in the pick-up. Because, currently it is still in a pandemic state of COVID-19.

"We hope, we urge people to pick him up later, as well as no need to rush to the airport, just a few people to pick up others wait, wait for his residence," he said.

Previously, the National Police Public Relations Division Karo Penmas, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, appealed to Rizieq Shibab's supporters to obey the regulations, especially at this time in the COVID-19 pandemic condition. In addition, Soekarno-Hatta Airport is a public space with a lot of activity.

"We appeal to his followers, the supporters of course carry out pick-ups in an orderly manner. Remember Soekarno-Hatta Airport is an international airport, there are many interests there, including a place for public services," he said.

In addition, Awi also emphasized that his party would not get in the way if Rizieq Shihab would return to Indonesia.

"So far, we have never kicked out, never. Yes, if you want to go home, just go home," said Awi.

However, Awi did not comment on the police intelligence who received information that Rizieq Shihab had obtained a permit to leave Saudi Arabia. He only invited the Grand Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) to return home.

"Anyway, if you want to go home, just go home," he said.

Meanwhile, the high priest of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab will arrive in Indonesia on November 10. He and his family returned to their homeland using an airplane with flight number SV-816.

"God willing, my family and I on Monday November 2020 at 09.30 Saudi time will fly from Jeddah Airport on a Saudi Arabia Airlines plane," Rizieq said as quoted from Front TV's Youtube channel, Wednesday, November 4.

Rizieq and his family will arrive at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Tuesday, November 10 at around 09.00 WIB. Then, he will immediately go to his house to rest.

"After we landed, our family from the airport would go straight to our residence in Petamburan, Central Jakarta," he said.

"And we will rest there until Wednesday and Thursday November 11 and 12, 2020," he continued.
