JAKARTA - A man in casual clothes is seen pointing a gun at a heavily armed motorbike rider in the Cakung area, East Jakarta, Monday, July 11. The action was recorded by other riders' amateur cameras and went viral on Instagram social media.

Apparently, the attempt at pointing a gun turned out to be an act of self-defense by a member of the Cakung Police, Aipda P, who was threatened with a sharp weapon by a motorcyclist.

Previously, the victim of Aipda P became the victim of threats with sharp weapons by the perpetrators who did not accept being reprimanded because his motorbike was going against the road on Jalan Raya Cakung - Cilincing.

Cakung Police Chief Kompol Syarifah Chaira confirmed the viral incident. According to Kompol Syarifah, the one who took out the weapons in the video was a member of the Cakung Police who was about to serve.

"So, it's actually a member of the Cakung Police who took out the weapon, because the driver threatened the police with a knife," Syarifah said when confirmed by VOI, Monday, July 11.

Syarifah explained that at that time the traffic conditions in the area were being hit by congestion. Then the perpetrator with the initials IS (35) rode a motorbike against the current and almost hit Aipda P.

After being warned by Aipda P, the perpetrator went berserk and took out a knife. The perpetrator tried to fight back because he did not accept being reprimanded.

"(The perpetrator) was reminded, after being reminded to fight, then the perpetrator took out a knife and wanted to stab the officers," he said.

Luckily, as a result of the incident no one was injured. IS was also secured to the Cakung Police for further investigation.

"We have secured the perpetrators and we have processed them. The IS perpetrators were charged with the Emergency Law for possession of sharp weapons, related to threats to officers, a case will be carried out later," he said.
