Police Name 6 Suspected Owners of 10 Hectare Cannabis Fields in Mount Karuhun Cianjur, But Still Wanted

CIANJUR - Cianjur Police have named six suspects as owners of marijuana fields with an area of ​​more than 10 hectares in Gunung Karuhun, Campaka District. However, they are still being chased by the police.

Cianjur Police Chief, AKBP Doni Hermawan, said after tracing the ownership of the double fields on Perhutani's land, it turned out that not only one person but the police got several other names who are strongly suspected of being the owners of the illegal plants at several points.

"We have dispatched members to pursue the suspects. We have pocketed the identities of the six people and immediately arrested them", he said as reported by Antara, Saturday, July 9.

Sweeping along the 1,700-hectare area of ​​Perhutani in Campaka District is still being carried out by joint officers to ensure that no more cannabis plants grow in protected forest areas.

"A few days earlier, officers found dozens of marijuana stalks on the other side of Mount Karuhun, suspected of being the perpetrators who planted the same field as the first discovered field. We ensure that a joint operation will be carried out until all parts of the protected forest are cleared of marijuana plants", he said.

The Cianjur Police previously found a marijuana field covering more than 10 hectares in a protected forest area belonging to Perhutani, precisely in Cimenteng Village, Campaka District. From this location, officers secured 400 marijuana sticks which were estimated to be more than 2 months old.

Previously, officers received reports from the public who first discovered a marijuana field on the edge of a fairly steep ravine. After sweeping, the joint officers found other fields that totaled more than 10 hectares.
