"This Winter Festival was carried out because Fatumnasi is one of the leading tourist destinations owned by NTT Province which is starting to stretch," said Head of the East Nusa Tenggara Provincial Tourism Office, Zeth Sony Libing when contacted in Kupang, Antara, Friday, July 8. Festivals at Fatumnasi are carried out as an effort by the NTT Government to drive the economy of the people around tourist areas far from urban centers. He explained that one of the considerations of the NTT Tourism Office was to raise the theme "Cold Festival" because in July-August the air temperature in the Fatumnasi Mountains tourist area reached a temperature of 13-15 degrees Celsius. "The winter peak in Fatumnasi is from July to August. Currently the air temperature in Fatumnasi is very cold, so it has become a unique thing to happen in NTT," said Zeth Sony Libing. According to him, since the NTT government and South Central Timor Regency began to carry out various arrangements for infrastructure in the Fatumnasi natural tourism area, people's economic businesses began to stretch. "The economic business of the community has begun to grow. People open various types of economic businesses for the needs of tourists who come," said Zeth Sony Libing. According to him, thousands of tourists from various regions will certainly come to participate in the festival which lasts three days, because Fatumnasi tourism objects are very beautiful. "We believe that people will be fascinated when they see the natural scene of Fatumnasi which is very exotic. Fatumnasi is a hidden paradise in Indonesia, the charm version of Indonesian tourism in 2021," said Zeth Sony Libing.
