JAKARTA - Police officers finally uncovered the murder case of SM (49), a man who was found dead covered in blood in a narrow alley in the Tambora area, West Jakarta. Police officers said SM died as a result of being abused by his friends using sharp weapons.

The West Jakarta Metro Police Satreskrim revealed the motive behind the persecution that led to the death.

Dari hasil penyelidikan yang dilakukan Satreskrim Polres Metro Jakarta Barat dengan Jatanras Polda Metro Jaya dan Polsek Tambora, ternyata kasus pembunuhan itu terkait narkoba.

"We managed to apprehend 4 perpetrators of the murder, the perpetrator and the victim are drug syndicates," said West Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKBP Joko Dwi Harsono, Friday, July 8.

According to AKBP Joko, the perpetrator and the victim are drug network syndicates. Meanwhile, the four perpetrators who were arrested had the initials DP alias D, AB alias D, A alias R, and J.

"Of the 4 suspects we have secured, 1 of them we have secured in Jakarta, 3 others have been arrested in Serang Banten," he said.

The incident began when the victim was involved in a commotion with 8 other friends. They are related to narcotics trafficking in the West Jakarta area.

The victim is considered to have provided information about the narcotics trafficking of the perpetrator group to the police. In short, the victim SM was accused of being a police informant, a drug addict.

"Because the police's activities in eradicating drugs are intensive, it might narrow their space so that these colleagues suspect the victim is the one who reported it or who informed the police," he explained. The victim was tortured to death covered in blood. He was stabbed in the back of the ear until it penetrated the part of the brain.

"On this allegation, the victim was killed by his own colleagues. By being stabbed in the back of the ear which penetrated the brain," he said.

The four perpetrators were charged with Article 340 of the Criminal Code and/or Article 170 and/or Article 2 of the emergency law, the penalty is a maximum of 20 years in prison.
