JAKARTA - The SAR team continues the search for a student from Tasikmalaya City who was reported missing by the waves on Madasari Beach, Pangandaran Regency, West Java.

Head of the Bandung SAR Office, Jumaril, said the team returned along the coast and waters of Pangandaran Regency on Friday, July 8, after the victim was reported missing on Thursday, July 7.

He said the joint team began to move around 07.30 WIB by dividing the strength of personnel to carry out search tasks according to the operation plan.

"The SAR operation on the second day the team will be divided into 2 SRU (search and rescue units). SRU 1 conducts a land sweep along the coast of Legok Beach, Java to Mabasis for 1 km, while SRU 2 conducts a sweep using two boats," he said.

He conveyed that the joint team was searching for a student named Sahrul (13) a resident of Cibangun Karya 1, Ciherang Village, Cibeureum District, Tasikmalaya City.

Previously, the victim was reported missing by the waves while swimming with seven friends at Madasari Beach, Cimerak District, Pangandaran Regency on Thursday, July 7 morning.

The incident left three people dead, one person missing, and the other safe.

Officers involved in the search operation were the Pangandaran SAR Alert Unit, Navy, Pangandaran Koramil, Pangandaran Police Satpolair, Pangandaran Satpol PP, Pangandaran BPBD, Balawista, and Pangandaran Tagana.

Furthermore, a joint team from SAR Muara Gata, SAR MTA, FKDM Legokjawa, PDC, Sigab Persis, SAR HNSI Legokjawa, search operations were also assisted by the Tasikmalaya City BPBD team.
