JAKARTA - The families of prisoners at the Class II B Correctional Institution (Lapas) Payakumbuh, West Sumatra (West Sumatra), are grateful for the policy of again allowing face-to-face visits.

The parents of one of the inmates of the Class II B Payakumbuh Prison, Yulfarina, said that she was allowed to return to face-to-face visits for a long time.

"It's been two years since I was able to visit my son and only communicate through video calling services provided by the prison," he said in Payakumbuh, Wednesday, quoted by Antara, July 7.

He revealed that this face-to-face visit made him more able to release his longing than other methods, either by telephone or video calls.

"We are very grateful and hope that the implementation of this face-to-face visit will be smooth and continue. Don't stop it again," he said.

In addition, he hopes that the implementation of face-to-face visits which is currently only allowed for 15 minutes can be added.

One of the Payakumbuh Prison inmates, David also admitted that he was grateful that he had allowed a face-to-face visit from his family to return.

"No one can change direct visits. We can talk directly and this can really let us miss here," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Class IIB Payakumbuh Prison, Muhamad Kameily, said that face-to-face visits to his prison had been opened since Tuesday, July 6, and several families of the inmates had used it.

"Previously we have also socialized this to our prisoners and some have taken immediate advantage of it," he said.

He said that families who will visit new prisoners are allowed for nuclear families and have implemented a third or booster vaccine.

"Each family is only allowed to visit for 15 minutes and a maximum of only for three people," he said accompanied by the Head of the Security Unit of the Abdul Silaban Prison and the Head of Security and Order Administration of Taufiqurrahman.

He revealed that in one day the Payakumbuh Class II B Prison can serve face-to-face visits to 20 families of prisoners.

"This is considering that our location is not large, so we have to limit it and in one week the family is only allowed to visit inmates once," he said.

According to him, allowing family visits can also help his party in providing guidance because the arrival of the family can provide joy to prisoners.

The total number of inmates in Class II B Payakumbuh Prison is 252 people and 14 of them are deposited at the Resort Police.
