JAKARTA - The Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) has rejected a request for a hearing from the Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) Foundation. The reason is that there is no such mechanism in the rules it adheres to.

"Where is the audience going? We don't have that mechanism," said PPATK Head Ivan Yustiavandana when confirmed, Wednesday, July 6.

According to him, the mechanism implemented at PPATK is limited to checking financial data. Then, submit the results of the analysis to law enforcement officials.

So, he said, PPATK has no obligation to hear in relation to the results of the analysis or its findings.

"We take care of following the money. We don't need to meet anyone," said Ivan.

ACT President Ibnu Khajar said that his party would write to PPATK. The goal is to discuss the PPATK's steps to freeze 60 accounts registered in 33 financial service providers or banks.

"So we may send a letter to PPATK, we want an audience," said Ibnu.
