Gaining Assimilation, 56 Semarang Prison Prisoners Asked To Always Stay At Home

SEMARANG - A total of 56 inmates at the Class 1 prison in Semarang, Central Java, have been assimilated to serve the rest of their sentences in their respective homes.

Head of Semarang Class I Prison Tri Saptono said there were 56 inmates who had met the administrative and substantive requirements.

Assimilation, he continued, was given to convicts of general crimes and narcotics whose sentences were less than five years.

"Inmates who are assimilated must be of good behavior and have served half of their sentence," he said in a press release, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, July 6.

Tri advised the released prisoners to always stay at home, take care of themselves, and not to violate the law again.

According to him, the granting of assimilation is in accordance with Permenkumham Number 43 of 2021 concerning Terms and Procedures for Granting Assimilation, Conditional Release, Leave Before Release, and Conditional Leave for Prisoners and Children in the Context of Prevention and Control of the Spread of COVID-19.

He asked inmates to be required to report regularly to the Correctional Center while undergoing assimilation.

The granting of assimilation to the inmates of Semarang Prison is not the first time in 2022. There have been at least two assimilations for Semarang prison inmates, namely in January and May 2022.
