He said his party as the executor of the project would also be responsible for material losses suffered by the shop owner.

Lamsan added that the loss due to the collapse of the wall that closed the residents' access was around Rp. 40 million.

His party has coordinated with the shop owner for the repair costs to be borne jointly.

He also said shop owners could reopen their businesses once the debris-clearing process was complete.

"The shop owner, tomorrow (July 6) can already sell because this shop has been immediately sealed off," said Lamsan.

Lamsan said that the construction of the aqueduct was a project of the East Jakarta Public Housing and Settlement Sub-dept. to address the flood problem in the area.

The project, which costs IDR 7 billion, has a length of approximately five kilometers, which passes through five RWs namely 01, 02, 03, 05 and 06 Kelurahan Rawa Terate.

"Currently it is around 80 percent. The target is to finish in the next two weeks," said Lamsan.

Previously, the 17-meter-long wall of a shop collapsed, blocking the access road for 300 families in Gang Air Tawar, RT 07/RW 01, Rawa Terate Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta, Monday, July 4.

Head of RT 08/RW 01, Rawa Terate Village, Taufik Bahtiar said that the access road was covered with debris from the shop wall that collapsed due to the construction of the water channel at around 16.30 WIB.

"The electricity shop building collapsed so that the debris blocked the road access. There were four RT in RW 01," said Taufik Bahtiar.

There were no casualties in the incident. However, this makes residents whose access to their houses are affected have to look for other alternative routes during the debris cleaning process.
