KPK Investigate Alleged Fictitious Subcontractors At BUMN PT Amarta Karya

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects that there are a number of fictitious subcontractors to receive payments for project work at PT Amarta Karya.

This was explored from four witnesses who were summoned related to allegations of internal corruption in State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN). The four were questioned on Monday, July 4 at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

"The investigation team has finished examining several people as witnesses," said Acting Spokesperson for the KPK for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, to reporters, Tuesday, July 5.

The witnesses who have been examined by investigators are the Head of the Debt and Receivable Department of PT Amarta Karya, Syafriali; former Head of PPIC and Project Manager of PT Amarta Karya, Aristianto; Head of the Finance Department of PT Amarta Karya, Onih; and Head of the Accounting, Verification and Tax Section of PT Amarta Karya, Rizal Fadillah.

"The witnesses present were all investigated regarding the existence of several fictitious subcontractors as a mode of receiving payment for project work," said Ali.

In addition, investigators are also investigating the alleged money request made by unscrupulous directors of PT Amarta Karya. However, Ali did not specify the amount of money in question.

"It was confirmed by the investigation team regarding the knowledge of the witness regarding the alleged request for money by the directors of PT AK," he said.

Previously, the KPK investigated allegations of corruption related to project procurement at one of the State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), PT Amarta Karya in 2018-2020. This new investigation was carried out after the anti-corruption commission obtained sufficient evidence.

The KPK suspects that a fictitious project has been implemented. As a result, there is a loss to the state. However, Ali has not specified who the party named as a suspect is.
