Susi Pudjiastuti Is Supported To Run For 2024 Presidential Election, NasDem Closes Opportunities For Presidential Candidates But Opens To Become Cadres

JAKARTA - The NasDem Party responded to the emergence of a declaration of support for the former Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Susi Pudjiastuti to run in the 2024 presidential election. The party created by Surya Paloh closed the door for Susi if she wanted to become a presidential candidate, but was open if she wanted to become a NasDem cadre.

At first, NasDem deputy head Ahmad Ali, suggested that Susi build political communication with a number of political parties if she intends to run for president.

"If Mrs. Susi wants to run for president, I think it is best to build political communication with political parties," said Ali, Sunday, July 3. According to him, it would be more interesting if Susi also explained her vision, mission and program if she later became president. "It would be interesting to confirm what Mrs. Susi will bring as president. It's not just a declaration, okay, volunteers, we don't know what to do, it's difficult," he said. Because, he said, there were already three names of presidential candidates who were proposed during the National Working Meeting.

"It is difficult for NasDem to be closed because yesterday the National Working Meeting recommended three names and there was no name for Mrs. Susi from the three names. There is no chance for NasDem to carry Mrs. Susi," he explained.

Even so, Ali said NasDem would gladly accept Susi if she wanted to join as a cadre.

"(If you join NasDem) you will be happy, of course," added Ali. Previously, there was a declaration of support for the former Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Susi Pudjiastuti to run as a presidential candidate (candidate) in the 2024 Presidential Election.

Representative from the community, Amri, read the declaration in front of the former Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia. Amri assessed that Susi Pudjiastuti's presence was to ward off the political polarization that was being experienced by Indonesia. "We are determined to guard and implement the moral movement that Mrs. Susi has conveyed in a tangible form, namely no more polarization, say no to corruption, drown the oligarchy, Indonesia for Indonesia," said Amri. Responding to this support, Susi Pudjiastuti emphasized the need to face reality because presidential candidacy requires supporting parties, not only support from cyberspace.

"Yes, we have to be rational, right. We have to be realistic. It's impossible for a virtual party to have no threshold. It has nothing in the real world. Wanting to run for president, yes, it's impossible," said Susi. There has been no offer to Susi to join a political party, even though she had a chance to chat with the general chairman of the political party. Susi suspects that there has been no political party offer to her because Susi's character is not compatible with the political world.
