Low Yields, Chili And Red Onion Prices In Cianjur Are Still High

JAKARTA - The Department of Cooperatives, MSMEs, Trade and Industry in Cianjur, West Java, noted that the prices of shallots and chilies are still high due to the lack of farmers' yields due to extreme weather, but it is certain that the stock will be sufficient until the sacrificial festival.

Launching Antara, Sunday, July 3, Head of the Cianjur Diskoperindag, Tohari Sastra said that until now the prices of vegetables, chilies and shallots are still creeping up.

The increase in chili prices, especially cayenne pepper and shallots, has occurred since the last two weeks.

"The price of shallots increased from Rp. 50,000 to Rp. 60,000 per kilogram, while for cayenne pepper from Rp. 90,000 to Rp. 110,000 per kilogram.0. Curly red chilies from Rp. 60,000 to Rp. 70,000 per kilogram," he said.

Various types of vegetables experienced an increase ranging from Rp. 5,000 to Rp. 10,000 per kilogram such as flat cabbage from Rp. 7,000 to Rp. 14,000 per kilogram, carrots from Rp. 2,500 to Rp. 8,000 per kilogram and tomatoes from Rp. 10,000 to Rp. IDR 18,000 per kilogram.

Not only vegetables, the price of chicken and beef is still high since Eid al-Fitr until now. Chicken per kilogram is now sold at Rp. 40,000 per kilogram and beef at Rp. 145,000 per kilogram due to the lack of stock at the agent and distributor level.

"Although the stock is minimal, we ensure that the availability of chicken and beef is sufficient until the feast of sacrifice. We will even coordinate with Bulog Cianjur to hold market operations when prices soar," he said.

The Secretary General of the Cianjur Lamb, Chicken and Beef Traders Association (Apddas), Rudi Blue, said that although meat prices continued to climb, the level of sales was still normal, even though buyers had reduced the number of purchases.

"For sales, which are still high, traders can sell chicken meat above 100 kilograms per day, while beef reaches 1.5 tons per day. We estimate the price will fall again after the qurbani holiday. ahead," he said.
