PKB Confirms Coalition With Gerindra, Jazilul Fawaid: Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Jazilul Fawaid confirmed that his party was in a coalition with the Gerindra Party for the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

"Yes, the coalition," said Jazilul when confirmed, Friday, July 1. Jazilul mentioned the name of the inter-party coalition chaired by Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) and Prabowo Subianto called the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition. "The Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition," he said. Previously, the Gerindra Party and the National Awakening Party (PKB) held another meeting called the National Gathering in the Kwitang area, Senen, Central Jakarta, Thursday, June 30, evening.

This national gathering is a continuation of the meeting between the General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto and the General Chairperson of the PKB Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) in Kertanegara some time ago. It is hoped that the two parties will become more familiar with themselves and lead to a cooperation agreement.

"This is a continuation to familiarize the Gerindra party and PKB at the provincial and DPD levels. We call it DPD, PKB call it DPW," said Gerindra Party Secretary General Ahmad Muzani after the meeting, Thursday, June 30.

Muzani said there were no obstacles whatsoever in the efforts of his party to cooperate with PKB.

"Anyway, we are currently formulating a future Indonesia in the 2024 election, so that the cooperation between PKB, the relationship between PKB and Gerindra, which is currently being initiated at the provincial level, can be effective in achieving victory," continued Muzani.

On the same occasion, Deputy Chairperson of PKB Jazilul Fawaid said this gathering continued the communication that had been carried out by the general chairmen. Thus, the cooperation that exists between the two parties can be accepted down to the bottom. Cooperation from the bottom up, continued Jazilul, is needed because these two parties want to win the 2024 General Election.

"If you mention the coalition, of course in the end you want to win. Well, if you have a match or get married, you end up having children. In the end, the coalition must want to win," he said.

"So don't think this is tahlilan. This is a forum for friendship. In politics it's called a coalition," added Jazilul.
