Central Jakarta City Government's Answer Regarding The Socialization Of Changing Street Names, Turns Out It Has Been Notified At The Kelurahan Level

JAKARTA - Assistant for Economics and Development (Asekbang) of Central Jakarta Administrative City, Bakwan Ferizan Ginting, denied residents' accusations regarding the lack of socialization related to the change of name Jalan Tanah Tinggi V to Jalan Hamid Arief in RW 06, Tanah Tinggi Village, Johar Baru District.

According to Bakwan Ginting, the socialization has been carried out through the Kelurahan.

"How come there is socialization, in the village there is (socialization), yesterday the Head of the Culture Sub-Department was present," he said when confirmed by reporters, Friday, July 1.

Regarding the protest that residents were not involved in the socialization, Bakwan Ginting explained, the local kelurahan had already socialized. However, the socialization between who and whom, Bakwan Ginting did not explain in detail.

"So yesterday from the kelurahan there was socialization, and we continue to make sure that the change in the name of the road will not be done automatically. At that time, we have conveyed it, it was in the Johar sub-district, the Head of the Culture Sub-Department was present, try it later," he said.

Bakwan Ginting further explained that there was a meeting in the Johar Baru District to ratify the name change. However, he did not remember exactly when the socialization of the meeting was carried out.

"I forgot, but there was a time. It was some time ago, before the ratification of the name change, it was in Johar District. I forgot the date, try going to the culture, what date was there," he said.

Bakwan Ginting explained that the invitation for socialization (change of street names) was carried out by the kelurahan party.

"Let's check it again later, but the principle has been socialized. Of course, the change in the name of this street will automatically change both the population administration and others, yesterday the ID card was automatically able to change its name," he said.

Previously, it was reported that protests related to the change of street names by the Governor of DKI Jakarta continued to emerge. This time, protests came from residents of RW 06 Tanah Tinggi Village, Johar Baru District.

Residents claimed that they had never been involved in deliberation or notification of road name changes from the local kelurahan.

"We were never involved in deliberation at all. Residents, even the head of the RT did not receive any notification. We also residents strongly objected to the change in the name of the road," said Irzon, a resident of RT 10/06, Tanah Tinggi Village, Johar. New, rejected, Thursday, June 30.
