JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini explained, from photos of mass media journalists in the field, his party can learn in handling and preventing future disasters.

"From the photos I can translate what I need to do. I often make decisions from the photos I see," said Risma.

On the same occasion, the Main Secretary of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Lilik Kurniawan said that the most important thing in every disaster event is the effort to handle and prevent it.

According to him, the photo exhibition "Indonesia Through Disasters" is able to show the community's resilience in dealing with disasters and mutual cooperation regardless of differences.

"With this exhibition, it is hoped that the hope of community preparedness for mitigation, preparedness is carried out so that they can build a disaster-resilient society," said Lilik.

This exhibition presents a number of natural disaster events that occurred in Indonesia, as well as the handling, and recovery efforts from disasters, featuring 88 photos of the 104 photos featured in the book. The photos are the work of 44 photojournalists from the ANTARA News Agency.

"Indonesia Through Disaster" will take place from 29 June - 29 July 2022 at the Antara Journalistic Photo Gallery, Jakarta.
