JAKARTA - PT Jasa Raharja NTT Branch has ensured that the 18 victims of the KM Tiana Liveboard tourist ship accident that sank in the waters of the Komodo National Park (TN) are fully guaranteed.

Head of PT Jasa Raharja NTT Branch Muhammad Hidayat said the compensation was in accordance with the provisions of the Basic Accident Protection Program for Public Transport Passengers.

"Jasa Raharja provides accident compensation to everyone who dies/permanent disability and reimbursement of maintenance costs due to accidents caused by the use of public transportation, and the status of the ship is included in the protection of Jasa Raharja," said Muhammad Hidayat in his official statement, Tuesday, June 28, quoted from Between.

He explained that a number of victims of the shipwreck received compensation. The compensation comes from the Mandatory Marine Vessel Contribution (IWKL) which is paid by passengers at the same time as paying transportation costs or tickets.

Hidayat added, with the Jasa Raharja compensation service system that has been digitally integrated with the Hospital, Directorate General of Dukcapil, Ministry of Home Affairs, the process of completing compensation documents and handing over compensation will be easier and faster.

Jasa Raharja's officers, he said, had carried out visits and the filing process in the management of the victims of the promotional ship accident.

"This compensation is a manifestation of the state being present in every condition of people's lives and is expected to lighten the burden for the victim's family. In addition, as a form of state commitment through Jasa Raharja to provide services to people throughout Indonesia," said Muhammad Hidayat.

The joint SAR team had previously succeeded in evacuating tourists who were victims of the sinking tourist boat in the waters of Pulau Kambing, Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, NTT.

"After receiving the information at 08.10 WITA, the SAR Rescue Team was dispatched to carry out SAR operations at 08.40 WITA, and arrived at the scene at 09.00 WITA," said Head of the Maumere Search and Rescue Office, Lalu Wahyu Efendi.

In the process of rescuing the victims, the joint SAR team managed to find a victim named J Widaningsi who was dead. The victim was immediately evacuated to Komodo Labuan Bajo Hospital.

He further explained that the second victim, Anisa Firtiani, was found dead and evacuated at 10.10 WITA after the dive process from the West Manggarai and Polair SAR Posts around the scene.

Information about the accident on the tourist ship named KLM Tiana with a weight of 61 GT occurred in the waters of Kambing Island with the ASDP Labuan Bajo Port shipping route to Padar Island.
