Officers Find Sacrificial Cows Indicated By PMK In Gambir Area

JAKARTA - Central Jakarta Sub-dept. of Food Security, Maritime Affairs and Agriculture (KPKP Sub-dept.) found sacrificial animals with indications of Mouth and Nail Diseases in the Gambir area, Central Jakarta.

The findings came from officers who conducted animal health checks.

"Yes, it's true that there are some cows that are indicated for PMK. There are 4 suspected of having FMD and that's out of the 12 cows we examined," said Head of the Central Jakarta KPKP Sub-dept., Penty Yunesi Pudyastuti, Tuesday, June 28.

Penty said, in order to prevent the spread of animals that indicated FMD, his party immediately provided treatment. It is hoped that the cow will recover in the next few days.

"We don't know yet whether it really got PMK or not. The cow has just arrived, it can also get sick from exhaustion or get a virus carried by the wind," he said.

Penty also said that animals that were still in good health were immediately separated from animals that were sick. Starting from the place to eat, drink and cage immediately separated.

"We are still monitoring other animals," he said.
