BJB Burglars Semarang Branch Sentenced To 10 Years In Prison

SEMARANG - The Semarang Corruption Court (Tipikor) sentenced Adhitiya Prasetiyo Wibowo to a 10-year prison term for the alleged burglar of Bank Jabar Banten (BJB) Semarang branch, Adhitiya Prasetiyo Wibowo.

The decision read by the Chief Justice of NGR. Rajendra's trial in Semarang, Monday, June 27, was lighter than the prosecutor's demand for 10.5 years in prison.

In addition to the corporal punishment, the judge imposed a fine of Rp. 500 million, which if not paid it would be replaced with imprisonment for 4 months.

In his decision, the judge required the former "Account Officer" of BJB Semarang Branch to pay compensation for state losses of Rp. 10.4 billion, which if not paid would be replaced with imprisonment for 5 years.

"Declaring that the defendant is found guilty of violating Article 2 paragraph 1 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended and added to Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as the first primary charge," he said.

In his judgment, the judge considered that the defendant's actions had violated trust and were contrary to the government's program in fighting corruption.

Based on this decision, the judge gave the opportunity to the prosecutor and the defendant to take further legal action if they were not satisfied.

The defendant Adhitiya Prasetiyo Wibowo was charged with breaking into BJB Semarang Branch by using the mode of making a credit application without the knowledge of the debtor and doing "top up" up to 38 times.

This crime was committed by the defendant in the period 2019 to 2020.
