Vocational High School Student In Gianyar Who Stealed Sesari Money For School Assisted By Police Chief, SPP Money Repaid

GIANYAR - The reporter for the theft of sesari or offerings at Pura Dalem, Banjar Pujung, Tegalalang, Gianyar Regency, Bali forgives a SMK student who stole money to pay for the Educational Development Contribution (SPP).

"So basically, the Banjar Pujung Traditional Village Prajuru as the victim whose sesari was stolen, has stated that he will not prosecute the student's actions and provide peace," said Tegalalang Police Chief AKP I Ketut Sudita, Monday, June 27.

The police have also held a meeting with the Karangasem Penitentiary and the school, including the perpetrator's family. The police decided to settle the case without any legal process.

"But we are still waiting for a recommendation from the Fathers' side. The Fathers' side today will conduct research on the child's whereabouts. Fathers said this week it can be completed and after the recommendation is complete, only later will he be legally free," said AKP Sudita.

In addition, the Tegalalang police chief has already paid the student's tuition fee. The student who stole this sesari was 2 semesters in arrears in paying tuition fees.

"I have followed up and I have helped to pay off his tuition until it is finished. The payment is for 30 months or 2.5 years. I have only paid two semesters because he is in arrears and has not paid until now," he said.

For the first semester, the police chief pays Rp. 510,000 and for the second semester, Rp. 610,000.

"For January 2021 until now I have paid it off. For July to December 2021 I will also pay it off. Later I will pay off the rest until after he goes to school, so I can see this child's enthusiasm for learning later," he said.
