Bandung Police Confiscate 20 Kg Of Crystal Methamphetamine

BANDUNG - The Bandung Police Narcotics Investigation Unit confiscated 20 kilograms of methamphetamine from two suspects suspected of being circulated in the Bandung area, West Java.

Bandung Police Chief Kombes Aswin Sipayung said the disclosure of the methamphetamine case began with the arrest of a suspect with the initials EI (38). recently. After being investigated, according to him, EI is known to be bringing crystal meth to Bandung.

"Then we carried out an examination and development, until we carried out a development in Pekanbaru because the suspect received evidence in Pekanbaru," said Aswin at the Bandung Police Headquarters, quoted by Antara, Monday, June 27.

According to him, EI was ordered by two people with the initials EG and YY to bring 20 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine to Bandung from Pekanbaru. Meanwhile, EG and YY are still being searched with the status of a wanted list (DPO).

EG promised EI that he would pay Rp. 300 million to send the methamphetamine to Bandung. However, because the wages had not yet been received, EI finally entrusted the 20 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine to a colleague with the initials JS in Jambi.

"EI's confession states that the methamphetamine which he took in Pekanbaru is stored in Jambi in a buried state and entrusted to his friend with the initials JS," he said.

After the confession, Aswin said his party immediately went to Jambi to secure the 20 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.

The 20 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine were wrapped in 20 green plastic packages so that each plastic bag contained 1 kilogram of crystal methamphetamine.

"If this methamphetamine is circulated, it will harm the people of Bandung and its surroundings, save millions of people. Thank God we saved it by uncovering this case," he said.

Aswin said the two suspects, namely EI and JS, have now been arrested. Both were charged with Article 114 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 112 paragraph 2 in conjunction with 132 paragraph 1 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics and were threatened with a maximum imprisonment of life up to the death penalty.
