JAKARTA - Secretary General of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) Nizar Ali said that this year's Indonesian pilgrims would be more comfortable at the peak of the pilgrimage in Arafah, Muzdhalifah and Mina (Armuzna).

"I have checked the initial readiness, I am sure, God willing, this can be much more comfortable than last year," said Nizar on the sidelines of visiting Armuzna in Makkah, Sunday, June 26.

Nizar assessed that there had been quite good progress compared to the previous Hajj season, because on the same date there had not been any preparations, still in the form of piles of material, not yet installed.

However, this year's hajj season, the tents are ready, and even the air conditioning (AC) has been installed.

Based on Antara's report, previously there were only four air conditioners in one tent. But now, six units of AC have been prepared. Electricity that used to use generators is now directly from power plants.

What needs to be anticipated, according to Nizar, is an unexpected event or a major force, such as wind or rainstorms. Because the power cable planted in the ground is very shallow about 20 cm will be dangerous, so when it rains, the electricity will be turned off.

"We have to anticipate what mitigations are prepared by the muassasah here, the company here. We have to be in charge, who reports what and to whom, there must be standard operating procedures that we do," he said.

He believes that all are committed to improving services and all can be responsible for their respective fields of duty. Even at the peak of the pilgrimage, a task force of Arafah, Muzdalifah and Mina was prepared, who were selected from selected people who had good experience.

"We are optimistic that everything will end well, as planned," said Nizar optimistically, because usually on 7 Dzulhijjah everything has been completed, but now, it is almost finished.

The peak of the pilgrimage, namely wukuf in Arafah on 9 Dzulhijjah, coincides with July 8, 2022.
