JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said the city he leads now has global standards. Buildings, city service applications, to public facilities in this city have all been recognized worldwide.

He conveyed this when giving a speech at the Jakarta Celebration Night to commemorate the 495th Anniversary of DKI Jakarta at the Jakarta International Stadium, Saturday, June 25 evening.

"Jakarta is almost 500 years old and now we can declare to the world that Jakarta is a global city," said Anies, who was warmly welcomed by the people who attended.

Anies said there were a number of things of international standard in Jakarta when he was under his leadership. The first is the facilities and infrastructure, including the stadium.

"When people come to Jakarta from various parts of the world, coming to this city will find an international standard stadium," said the former Minister of Education and Culture.

"Look at the international standard sidewalks. See the art and art center with international standards. See the bus stops, terminals, stops, the MRT is all of international standard. This is an example of us entering a global city," he said with a smile.

"This is a digital utilization application, a super-aps that is not only the best, but it has also been named the best city service super-aps in Southeast Asia," he said.

Finally, Anies also said that Jakarta was able to organize a global event that caught the world's attention during his leadership period. It was Formula E which he called a huge success and made Jakarta the center of attention.

"We just finished a very successful Formula E world championship match in Jakarta. The eyes of the world are looking at Jakarta, the eyes of the world are looking at the world," he said.
